Scooter and buggy shelters

Covered, tidy storage for scooters, prams and buggies at school gates, nurseries and family hubs. The same Chelsea-range steel shelters we build for bikes, sized for smaller wheels and, where you need it, closed in with lockable security gates.

  • Powder-coated steel
  • Clear or solid roofs
  • Lockable security gates
  • Concrete or sub-fixed base

What is a scooter or buggy shelter?

It is a covered store for the things families and pupils arrive on: scooters and bikes for the children, prams and buggies for the youngest. The frame and roof are the same as our cycle shelters, so the choice is really about what goes inside and how secure it needs to be, from an open canopy over a rack to a gated, weldmesh-sided store.

Where scooter and buggy shelters suit

Primary and infant schools use them at the gate so scooters are parked and out of the way before the bell. Nurseries and early years settings use buggy shelters so parents can leave a pram under cover at drop-off. Family hubs and community sites use gated versions where the store needs to be locked between sessions.

How they are built

Frames are powder-coated steel in the Chelsea range, finished to any RAL colour, with a clear or solid roof. They stand on a concrete or sub-fixed base, and can be closed in with lockable weldmesh gates where security matters. Scooter racks and cycle stands are fitted to suit the numbers. We confirm the size, the base and the level of security at survey.

How secure can a scooter or buggy shelter be?

As open or as secure as the site needs. The simplest is an open canopy over a rack; from there we add weldmesh sides and a lockable gate to make a closed store that can be locked between sessions, which suits a family hub or a school gate left unattended overnight. We set the level of security with you at survey.

How big a shelter do we need?

Sizing starts from how many scooters, prams and bikes the site needs to hold at once, and the space you have at the gate or by the door. Scooter racks and cycle stands are fitted to suit those numbers, and we confirm the footprint and the base at survey. Send us a rough count and a photo of the spot and we return a scaled proposal.
